Last weekend see Danny compete in his first EWC event last weekend, riding in the famous championship finally the Suzuka 8hour race.
Riding for the Number 8 Kawasaki of Swiss outfit Team Bolliger, Danny took part in several days of testing to familiarise himself with the world-famous Suzuka circuit in the week building up to the event enjoying every moment of the challenge.
Following the aggregate qualifying and cancellation of some sessions due to the infamous Japanese weather Danny and his teammates qualified in P31 with Danny setting the teams fastest lap of a 2 minute 10, a very good lap on his first event at the circuit.
Sunday’s race was full of drama, excitement, and action with Danny riding superbly during his 3x stints with the team ending the race in P15, an amazing result for them.
Danny had this to say about his Suzuka 8hrs experience:
“What an experience, I loved every lap of it and can’t thank Team Bolliger for having me plus supporting me throughout the whole week. Endurance racing is just out of this world, pushing 100% throughout your stint and working with your teammates to maximize the bike setup was a great new experience for me. The circuit is so different to what we ride on in BSB, it’s a great circuit I enjoyed riding and getting to grips with throughout the week. Hopefully, I will be back next year for even more fun”
